| Well, we are all back from our fun filled Top Vettes 1000 Island
tour. A great time was had by all. We went up with 6 Club Vettes
and now have two Club heroes, Scott and his Dad. Scott won his
class with his beautiful '67 mean machine. I have never seen
Scott with a bigger smile. It was a beautiful trophy despite
the fact it had sticky handles. Scott is a very talented individual
and was still able to drive home with just one hand on the steering
wheel.
There were close to 80 beautiful Vettes there, and 65 of them
went on a 212 mile fun run through the beautiful 1000 Isle
region. The fun run started as a parade through a cheering
crowd, over the 1000 Island bridge for a picnic stop, and back
through the most beautiful windy roads you could ever imagine.
We had one gas stop and what a sight that was to see the large
gas station filled with those beautiful Vettes. We were beat
out in club participation by a local club that had 11 Vettes.
But next year will be our turn.
Next year will also include a bicentennial celebration of
the area which will include a War simulations and many other
local events. |
